Wine Spectator Meets with Algodon Wine Estates

Thursday, 08/21/2008 12:00 PM - 08:00 PM
Mendoza City, Argentina

Wine Spectator, in a partner program with Wines of Argentina and Argentina Tourism, recently met with Algodon Wine Estates' Director of Food & Beverage, Diego Coll Benegas, and Master Winemaker, Mauro Nosenzo for a future 16-page article on Argentine wines and wineries; titled the Sommelier's Guide to Argentina. The meeting took place in Mendoza and entailed interviews as well as tastings. This is the first year Algodon Wine Estates has been involved with this annual event.

The organizers of the event assembled a team of highly esteemed American sommeliers to visit Argentina's seven grape-growing regions, as well as several wineries within them. The aim of the article is to provide Wine Spectator readers with a truly authentic, insider's look at Argentine wine and to promote Argentina as an exciting wine-destination and travel spot. They also hope to promote Argentine wines and further boost its reputation among restaurant accounts and the trade.
