Best Practices in Tourist Destinations

Thursday, 08/28/2008 06:00 PM - 10:00 PM
San Rafael, Argentina

Algodon Wine Estates' restaurant was chosen to take part in a program called Best Practices in Tourist Destinations, established by Argentina's General Secretariat of Tourism. The program consists of the implementation of rules and procedures leading to the standardization of tourism-related services - in our case, gastronomical services.

Participating in the program were establishments connected to the hotel, gastronomy and tourism industry within the departments of General Alvear, Malargüe and San Rafael.  After 3 months, each establishment was examined, and of the 60 business participating, only 40 were awarded distinctions (just 4 of which belong to the gastronomy area), and Algodon Wine Estates was among them.

"BEST PRACTICES" Ceremonial Lunch

On August 28, Algodon Wine Estates held a ceremonial lunch for the presiding authorities from the awards event. Among those in attendance were the National Tourism Secretary, Mr. Enrique Meyer; Mendoza's Governor, Mr. Celso Jaque; Mendoza's Tourism Secretary, Mr. Eduardo Böhm; The Director of Tourist Services, Ms. Gabriela Segovia; The Superintendent of San Rafael, Mr. Omar Félix; and the Superintendents of General Alvear, and Malargüe.  Proprietors of several of the establishments that received distinctions were also in attendance.
