Marcelo Pelleriti, 98 Point Parker Rating Producer, Joins Algodon

Algodon Wine Estates is pleased to announce our new partner and advisor,  the highly-credited Marcelo Pelleriti, a vineyard and wine consultant who brings years of experience and knowledge, as well as some of the highest accolades a person in his field could receive.  Mr. Pelleriti's Enology work for Chateau La Violette - POMEROL and Chateau Le Gay - POMEROL earned his wine a stunning 96-98 point rating and 95-98 rating, respectively, from Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate.  He has also received a noteworthy number of ratings in the 90s for several of the wines he has served as Enologist for over the past few years.  For more information on Mr. Pelleriti's professional history and extensive wine accolades, please visit his biography here.

Mr. Pelleriti will serve as senior advisor to Algodon Wine Estates' oenologists, and his expertise alongside the members of our accomplished Wine Panel is also very welcomed.  In addition to Mr. Pelleriti, Algodon Wine Estates' Wine Panel is comprised of Camilo Aldao, Bombal & Aldao Winemaker; Jorge Alberto Arenas, AWE Agronomical Engineer; Rubén Barsamian, AWE Chief Operating Officer; Diego Coll Benegas, AWE Director of Project Development, Tourism & Hospitality; Fernando Coelho, AWE Sales & Marketing Coordinator; Jasper A. van Duuren, InvestProperty Group Executive V.P. of Strategic Development; Anthony Foster, Master of Wine and AWE Senior Wine Advisor; Lee Lacy, Executive Director of Fine & Estate Wines; Peter Lawrence, DPEC Partners Director; and Mauro Nosenzo, AWE Winemaker.

Most recently, our Wine Panel unanimously acknowledged that Algodon Wine Estates' viniculture has improved dramatically since just a year or two ago, and they stress that there are more improvements in store, per their direction.  Mr. Pelleriti feels that due to Algodon Wine Estates' prime location in the Cuadro Benegas district, our vineyards have an enormous amount of potential to produce top quality wines.   He and Anthony Foster agree that the soil and the climate in San Rafael are optimally favorable for cultivating Bonarda in particular.  Moreover, they also agree that Algodon Wine Estates has the potential to produce "some of the best Bonarda in the world".   Additionally, Mr. Foster gave favorable reviews on some of our 2008 wines; emphasizing that we have a few "real stars" among the lot, and recommending that we submit at least five of our new varietals to international competitions in the near future.
