Algodon Wine Panel has First Meeting with Members from Around the Globe

In early August 2009, Algodon Wine Estates established an official Wine Panel made up of individuals with expertise in winemaking, viniculture, marketing, and property investments.  The purpose for the formation of this group of specialists is to regularly evaluate our existing vintages, vineyards, cultivation and elaboration practices, and to discuss a strategy for the maximization of quality and future production potential of our wines.

Among the topics recently discussed were Algodon Wine's "black label" reserva, our "1830" label's wine list, annual harvest surplus, the region's widely felt impact of the 2007 hailstorm, weighing the pros and cons of potential new plantings verses grafting, which varietals currently planted will continue production and receive more focus verses which varietals will be discontinued, and future oak barrel provisions and uses.

Algodon Wine Estates' Wine Panel is comprised of (in alphabetical order); Camilo Aldao, Bombal & Aldao Winemaker; Jorge Alberto Arenas, AWE Agronomical Engineer; Rubén Barsamian, AWE Chief Operating Officer; Diego Coll Benegas, AWE Director of Project Development, Tourism & Hospitality; Fernando Coelho, AWE Sales & Marketing Coordinator; Jasper A. van Duuren, InvestProperty Group Executive V.P. of Strategic Development; Anthony Foster, Master of Wine and AWE Senior Wine Advisor; Lee Lacy, Executive Director of Fine & Estate Wines; Peter Lawrence, DPEC Partners Director; and Mauro Nosenzo, AWE Winemaker.

A feature article on Algodon Wine Estates' Wine Panel recently appeared in Mendoza's widely read Area 3 magazine.
