I recently traveled to Mendoza to meet with Marcelo Pelleriti and Ruben Barsamian to finalize Algodon Wine Estates’ 2009 red blends and the 2010 whites. The whites included the microvinified Chenin, the Semillon and also young vine Sauvignon in very small quantities. The Chenin was interesting and can be sold through our own outlets in Argentina. The Semillon 2010 was charming and ready for bottling. The Sauvignon was crisp and fresh but lacked true Sauvignon zing. We decided that to blend it with the Semillon would add bite to it.
