Algodon Wine Tasting at the Argentine Consulate General

On Thursday May 27th, 2010, Algodon Wine Estates held a wine tasting of our new 2008 and 2009 vintages, as well as a "meet & greet" for our clients, partners and the press.  The Argentine Consulate General in New York City generously hosted our event, which was attended by Argentina's Consul General, Minister Alejandro Bertolo, the Deputy Consul General, Counselor María Gabriela Quinteros, and New York's Director of Argentina tourism office, Ines Segarra, among others.

Special guests of Algodon Wine Estates', who joined us from Argentina, included our accomplished oenologist and Senior Wine Consultant, Marcelo Pelleriti, our Winemaker Mauro Nosenzo, our Director of Project Development, Tourism & Hospitality Diego Coll Benegas, and the estate's Executive Chef, Gastón Langlois.

In addition to a special chimichurri sauce prepared by Mr. Langlois for the evening's festivities, wines served from Algodon's 2008-2009 vintages included the entire wine list; 2008 Malbec, Bonarda, Merlot, Cabernet, Cabernet/Syrah, Pinot Noir, and Gran Reserva, and 2009 Malbec/Bonarda Rosé, Semillon, and Chardonnay.  Our wines were very well-received, and we have already seen significant interest from wine critics and journalists, as well as a number of European distributers.  Our 2008 Bonarda in particular (which recently won the Double Gold and the Champion's Award in its category from the VINUS 2010 Bicentennial tasting completion) has drawn an immense amount of positive attention, and we expect that the future holds great promise for its critical recognition and accolades.
