Algodon Wine Estates 2009 Wine List

Algodon Wine Estates is pleased to announce our 2009 wine list, which has been shipped to the U.S. for distribution!  Comprised of vintages from both 2006 and 2008, our current offering includes our 2006 Malbec, 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon (Silver Medal winner of the 2009 Vinus International Wine Competition), 2006 Cabernet/Syrah, 2008 Chardonnay Reserva, and 2008 Malbec Rosé.

Select vintages from our 2008 wine list received glowing reviews from some of the industry's most revered wine critics. Internationally recognized wine critic Stephen Tanzer and the acclaimed bimonthly International Wine Cellar online magazine recently focused on "the best new wines from Argentina."  Mr. Tanzer favorably reviewed Algodon Wine Estates 2004 Malbec, 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2004 Bonarda.  Each wine scored a commendable 87 points with Mr. Tanzer, who described our Malbec as; "sweet and nicely concentrated, with good breadth to the smoke and bitter chocolate flavors...No shortage of substance."  Additionally, Anthony Dias Blue (2001 James Beard Foundation award-winner) rated Algodon Wine Estates 2004 Malbec with a score of 90 points; "Dark and sexy with smooth texture and ripe plum, cassis and black raspberry fruit; dense, long and rich with power and style."  

The most recent addition to our list of notable merchants who carry our brand includes Recoleta's Le Choix des Vins, who have a reputation for carrying the best selection of Argentine wines, as well as the Estancia Villa Maria, one of the most impressive hotel and resort estates in South America.

The vineyards of Algodon Wine Estates are located in the foothills of the Sierra Pintada Mountains in San Rafael, Mendoza. With vines dating back to the 1940s, this two thousand acre estate is nestled in the heart of Argentina's wine country. Our wine is brought to you by Camilo Aldao, the doyen of Argentina's wine industry; as well as the brilliant young winemaker, Mauro Nosenzo. Introduced by Scott Mathis and his partners, and advised by Anthony Foster Master of Wine, Algodon employs state-of-the-art technology in order to bring you the finest quality wines vintage after vintage; "Be healthy, be happy, and appreciate all good things in life."
