Anthony Dias Blue, a 2001 James Beard Foundation award-winner, has rated Algodon Wine Estates 2004 Malbec with a score of 90 points! In his review, Mr. Blue describes our wine as "Dark and sexy with smooth texture and ripe plum, cassis and black raspberry fruit; dense, long and rich with power and style." The review appears in the June '09 issue of The Tasting Panel Magazine's "Blue's Reviews" section...

Tennis Center update from the Design Architect: Gerhard Heusch

Hello all, we are all very enthusiastic about the prospect of bringing a challenger tournament and tennis academy to Algodon Wine Estates in the near future and perhaps some exhibition matches (with notable tennis personalities) that José Luis Clerc will organize in the meantime. Organic agriculture cultivation strictly allows for the use of authorized ecofriendly products, as opposed to synthesized products such as agrichemicals, herbicides, and fertilizers. Many farms and plantations may experience difficulties in organic cultivation by way of infestation and diseases from which they may potentially suffer as a result. However, our vineyards fare exceedingly well with organic and ecofriendly approaches because pest control is safely achieved via sulfur and copper treatments, and weed control is done mechanically…

Hello Everyone, It's shaping up to be a great summer!  I'm very excited about the start of construction for the tennis center which just had its groundbreaking a few weeks ago.  Rubén Barsamian has informed me that the entire "earth movement" and leveling has been completed for the tennis courts.  Supplies for building the courts are being delivered and court construction will begin this week.  Gerhard Heusch had a meeting with the tennis contractor and he mentioned the courts would be ready for match play in 90 days...

The month of April was a busy time for our hardworking staff in San Rafael.  Algodon Wine Estates saw many visitors over the Easter holiday, and according to Diego Coll Benegas, AWE's Director of Project Development, Tourism & Hospitality, our lodges were at full capacity and an abundance of wine was sold.  Over the holiday, the estate also hosted Música Clásica por los Caminos del Vino ("Classical Music through the Wine Road") where attendees enjoyed classical music and wine tastings...
