In a recent Reuters feature article, written by Kevin Gray, with the headline; "Despite slowdown, polo is big business in Argentina," we are led into the world of Argentine Polo. The article discusses Argentina's dominance of the sport, a bit of its history, and the country's unwavering status as the world's top destination for polo. We are also told of the thriving polo culture and its relation to similar luxury real estate developments to our own Algodon Wine Estates. Chief Financial Officer for Jumeirah Group's Culu Culu Polo Resort in Lobos, Argentina, is quoted as saying; "Our targeted public is still living the way they always have despite the (economic) crisis...there is always a public for a high quality product like this."
Algodon Wine Estates' twin polo fields are scheduled to be excavated and seeded this year, and our 18-hole championship golf course will be ready for play by May 2009.
