“Buenos Aires has reinvented itself as a South American center of chic, cool surprises…”

In another recent article from Continental Airlines In-flight Magazine, freelance journalist and Buenos Aires hipster, Ian Mount, has written a terrific piece titled Capital Gains, where he expresses his take on Buenos Aires' thriving culture of cool. Mount writes; "In attempting to describe Argentina to visiting friends, it's easy to oversimplify and say that it's not the Latin America of tequila and tacos. But what is most attractive about Buenos Aires these days is the way it bangs together its European and South American sides without worrying too much about the rules." The article touches on art, architecture, popular puertas cerradas (or "closed door" restaurants literally located in peoples' private residences) and the city's evolution of trendiness over the past few years. Mount also shares an online blog, GoodAirs.com, with his wife and fellow writer/editor, Cintra Scott. Both are American expats who have relocated to Argentina.
