Algodon Wine Estates:

Vineyard Living

Vineyard owners will enjoy the privileges of our residents’ private wine cellar, centrally located within the estate, which has been reserved for the exclusive use of all who wish to bottle and label their own wines. Here, vineyard owners may store their bottles and barrels, sample their wines with friends and neighbors, and celebrate the pleasures of a privately owned label. Vineyard owners will have several options regarding their property's seasonal harvest and production, and may choose to have their land tended, harvested, and processed by our staff if they so choose. The final product may then be sold back to Algodon Wine Estates to be marketed under our exclusive label, or sold to a third party, or marketed independently by the vineyard owner himself who might wish for his own family label. Algodon Wine Estates has reserved approximately 197 acres (80 ha) of common vineyards which non vineyard estate owners may opt to collectively own a part of.

Algodon Wine Estates is featured in Food & Wine Magazine!

Algodon will be as luxurious as any American project, according to chairman and founder Scott Mathis, but a favorable exchange rate means it will be more affordable. Buyers can choose from a wide variety of home sites, some with lots between one and 16 acres. Governor of Mendoza visits Algodon Wine Estates

On October 2nd the Governor of Mendoza Province, Mr. Celso Jaque, visited Algodon Wine Estates to lunch with Mr. Scott Mathis, the Chairman & Founder of InvestProperty Group and Algodon Wine Estates. Also in attendance were the Superintendent of San Rafael, Omar Félix, and Lawyer to Algodon Wine Estates, Pablo Bressan. The Governor, who also toured the estate, lent his support by expressing his approval for our project’s beneficial impact on development and employment opportunities for San Rafael as well as for Mendoza Province.

Algodon Mansion:

The Wait is Over…Algodon Mansion is Revealed…

Algodon Mansion’s exterior scaffolding and edificial cover have been removed for the first time since construction began in January of 2007. The unveiling reveals Algodon Mansion’s ornate French Classical façade, which has been impeccably restored to its original grandeur. Algodon Mansion is a landmarked building that was constructed in 1912, and features elegant Belle Époque architecture that is echoed throughout Recoleta’s magnificent streets. This exciting project milestone is the first of many to come, and we eagerly anticipate seeing you at Algodon Mansion’s opening in just a few months.

Argentina’s Ruta del Vino (Wine Route) and How It All Began…

Numerous wineries on Argentina’s wine trail, a journey along the Andes, have opened tourist accommodations and restaurants, several of which include special wine courses. The Ruta del Vino can be divided into four regions; the Uco Valley, the Midwest, the East (or Central Valley), and the South were you will find our Algodon Wine Estates in San Rafael, Mendoza. According to a study from Bodegas of Argentina, a total of 1,004,810 tourists travelled along the wine trail in 2006. Tours often consist of visits to the estate’s vineyards, accompanied by a tasting. In some cases, travelers may learn firsthand about the elaboration process and the manual labor involved in producing hand-crafted wine.

Algodon Wine Estates Hosts the 2nd Gourmet Tournament on the Wine Roads

The 2nd GOURMET TOURNAMENT ON THE WINE ROADS Open Golf Tournament was recently hosted at Algodon Wine Estates. The participants included 87 golfers from San Luis, Mendoza, Córdoba, Neuquén, and Buenos Aires, as well as local members of Algodon Wine Estates’ golf club. Special features of the tournament included the participation of several wineries, gastronomic establishments, and educational organizations, who set up stands located on the golf course and driving range.

A Successful Algodon Wine Tasting in New York City

We were very pleased with the turnout for our wine tasting at Union Square Wines here in NYC. Roughly 100 people attended the event including press and representatives from the Argentine Consulate. The event took place on Thursday, October 16th. InvestProperty Group’s Chairman and Founder, Scott Mathis, gave a warm welcome speech to all in attendance and then proudly introduced our very special Argentine guests, who flew all the way in from San Rafael, Mendoza for the event. Our honored guests included; our partners at the Bombal & Aldao Winery, Camilo Aldao and his wife Luisa; as well as our acclaimed winemaker, Mauro Nosenzo; and our Director of Project Development, Tourism & Hospitality (Algodon Wine Estates) and Head of Food & Beverage (Algodon Mansion), Diego Coll Benegas. While every wine received a glowing review from our guests, partiality seemed to favor the ‘08 French Oaked Chardonnay, the ’04 Cabernet Syrah, and of course above all else, the Bonarda.

Tanzer, of the acclaimed bimonthly International Wine Cellar, will be reviewing Algodon Wines this month.  This is a wine industry honor, and we are very pleased that our winery has been acknowledged by a trade professional of his caliber.  International Wine Cellar is an independent journal read by wine professionals and other wine lovers in all 50 states and 34 countries, and the first American wine periodical to be translated into French and Japanese.

I am excited to share with you the latest updates regarding our current properties: Algodon Wine Estates in Mendoza and Algodon Mansion in Buenos Aries.  I am currently in Buenos Aries and just stopped by the mansion.  The façade cover has finally been removed after months and months of diligent restoration and I must say it is spectacular, and clearly one of the most impressive buildings in Recoleta.  There are beautiful details in its 1912 belle époque architecture that we have never seen before...even better than I could have expected.
